Boris Johnson will be joined at Barn Elms tomorrow morning at a mega rally against Heathrow expansion organised by Conservative MP for Richmond Park, Zac Goldsmith.
Also taking part will be the former Secretary of State for Transport, Justine Greening MP, and at least ten MPs from across the political spectrum, including the Secretary of State for Energy an Climate Change, Ed Davey, Mary MacLeod, Andy Slaughter, John Randall, John McDonnell, Angie Bray, Virendra Sharma, and Bob Blackman MP.
The rally will also draw attention to referendums being conducted in Richmond and Hillingdon councils. After speaking, some speakers will cast their votes in an enormous ballot box constructed by Richmond Park Academy.
The event will take place at 09.30-10.30am on 27 April 2013 (tomorrow) at Barn Elms Playing Field (Queen Elizabeth Walk, Barnes SW13 9SA).
Commenting, Zac said;
“The Government’s decision to reopen the debate over Heathrow expansion has angered residents of South West London and dismayed those who campaigned against it previously. The possibility of third and fourth runways was explicitly ruled out in both Coalition parties’ manifestos”
He added:
“People know this is a decisive moment in the campaign, and the communities affected are organising themselves for a monumental battle. We expect a huge turnout at the rally.”
