Mamberamo Foja Mamberamo Foja is vast, and teaming with life and species that exist nowhere else on Earth. It covers nearly 1.8m hectares of almost entirely intact and critically important ecosystems
It is home to 35 Indigenous tribes who will be front and centre in the management of the new National Park, and it is undoubtedly thanks to their good stewardship that it is one of the most biodiverse places on Earth.
This is another big step towards fulfilling the ambitious programme across that extraordinary archipelago
