Note My Vote is a new democracy-enhancing website which enables the public to vote on legislation before MPs. The results of polls are then sent to MPs and published on the website before the vote takes place in the House of Commons. The aim is to bring the democratic process into the digital age and make it easier for constituents to make their opinion heard and for MPs to know what their voters are thinking.
There are currently three Bills on the website for the public to vote on; EU Referendum, Wild Animals in Circuses and Recall of MPs. The Recall of MPs Bill will be debated on 14th October and the EU Referendum and Wild Animals in Circuses Bill will be on 17th October. Polls on the Note My Vote website will close a couple of days before the debates in Parliament.
It is easy to register and all polls are yes or no answers so it will not take up too much of your time. It is a simple way for you to give me your opinions on important legislative and policy matters so please take the time to register. This is an exciting new idea and I hope you will be able to take part!
