I’m proud of the progress we are making on animal welfare. In addition to many recent victories, we are:
- Consulting on banning the imports of hunting trophies
- Consulting on mandatory cat microchipping
- Issuing a call for evidence on banning keeping primates as pets
- Bringing forward proposals for ending live exports of animals.
And only last month we persuaded the international community to ban the capture of wild elephants for sale into captivity.
